Sermon poured through Brother Freedom

I have learned a long time ago that it is a great honor and a real high responsibility what we speak. And I believe this very heavily for all of us.

The Bible says let your words be few, “quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath.” [James 1:19] And I believe there is a real responsibility. And I believe that is basically why the church, I am saying THE CHURCH, the world-wide [church], hasn’t seen the glorious ministry; because, there has been a lot of words, that really, weren’t by the Spirit of God.

We put it off on the Lord, that it is HIS [words]. But really, in reality, it isn’t. And the Bible says, “We are snared by our words.” [Proverbs 6:2] Our words are how God works. HE spoke the world into existence. And, as HIS disciples WE LITERALLY SPEAK HIS WILL INTO EXISTENCE TODAY!

And, that is why the anointing of God rests on some, in a very [special way], because of the direction. It [that is the anointing] puts your pastors, supposed to be, in direction. I am saying “it is supposed to be,” and it is, I believe in your case. But in a lot of places it may not be. Because, I think, if we try to do things in our vain [ways], we make mistakes.

This body that we live in has a tendency of making mistakes. And that is why schools have come into position, because schools teach us how to do certain things. Repetition brings things into a certain focus. If you study English you are going to soon be very fluent on English. If you study Math you are going to be, if you have the right qualifications, you are going to be a Math scholar.

And, in the Bible, [it] plainly says, “Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” [Galatians 6:7] And that is our responsibility into the bargain, as we come to the Lord. Salvation has been spoken here this day. Salvation is that first initial step, I believe, that we take when we come to our Lord. At that time we have nothing to offer. We may have prior sins, or whatever. And the Bible says that God takes all of those things and puts them in the sea of God’s forgetfulness, never to remember them, no more. [Psalm 103:12]

And it is amazing what God can do with mortal people. We are just [clay]. And there is something that changes in us. There is a chemistry, I believe, that changes when we accept Jesus Christ into our hearts, a load that has been very heavy to bear. And we see that through [the] society of life, we see people that have real problems. We see them. And we know that Jesus is the answer. But, getting them to see that they need Jesus is the problem. That is the problem.   [That is] why prayer is the power that is not seen, but does great and mighty things.

When we pray, fervently, with the Spirit of God, there becomes an action that God sees. This is our part of the responsibility. And we pray. And basically there is nothing happening, only your prayers. But, with that prayer God can come down and deal with that individual, because of your steadfastness in HIM!

“Be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vein.” [1st Cor. 15:58]

So, you say, “What can I do with it?” You can do a lot!! It is your faith in God. “Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” [Romans 5:1]

There becomes a POWER when you face controversy, when you face problems, when you face heartaches, when you face ALL the problems we face in this life. And the Word says there: we face THEM in the Name of our Lord. We “…stand fast…”,”… having done all to stand.” [1st Cor. 16:13] [Eph. 6:13b] And that means you are NOT going to lose ground. You are going to stand in the Name of Jesus. And through that, the winds of the powers of the enemy may come your way. And they [the evil powers] might move upon you, but they CANNOT move you back. Only, maybe, you will feel [them]…but God is able to subdue ALL problems.

And that is what we have to learn: to adjust ourselves within the limitations that we live in, because this body tells us things. This body tells us, “You can’t do that!” This body tells you that you can’t do this or that. And that is the problem we face. It is within us. A lot of times it is NOT from the enemy! But it is, literally, within ourselves. We feel that we are not capable! And we lose out the fact that: “…we are more than conquerors…” through Christ Jesus which loved us. [Romans 8:37]

Schambach was spoken about this morning [R.W. Schambach, evangelist]. I heard him in Anaheim [California] one time. And he says, “You know what? The Bible says we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus that loved us,” in the eighth chapter of Romans. And he says, “You know what that is folks?” He said, “That’s like this prize fighter.” He says, “This prize fighter, he is the biggest there is. He has made the top! He has beat all the opponents that has come to him. He has won all the rounds. And He has won the prize!.” And he says, “You know what the church is?? That is like his little 80 pound wife! And she comes in, and she gets the WHOLE PURSE. She takes that whole package to the bank!” And he says, “She does it with ease! And that is what God has done for you.”

Through Jesus Christ, through the power of the Spirit of God, we are “…more than conquerors…” That little lady can come, because she has, as her husband, the ONE who defeats ALL!! She is not afraid of anyone. Yet, HE gives her ALL controls. You know, we are MORE than conquerors! And Schambach said that…I have never forgotten those words that are truly right. We ARE MORE than CONQUERORS.

It is not through our fight! It is through our Husband’s fight, our Redeemer, Jesus, through HIS fight! He has already paid. He has already defeated [the enemy]. He set [us] free, that we might obtain that gift of righteousness, through HIM which loved us.

And, I believe that we, as God’s people, must realize that God has us here for a special purpose. It says, “…the steps of a good man, (or good woman) are ordered by the Lord. He delighteth in his way. Though he shall fall (she shall fall) they shall not be utterly cast down. For the Lord upholdeth them with HIS mighty hand.” [Psalm 37:23-24]

And, as our Christian walk, I believe there are times when we feel, in our hearts, that we are failures, that we have missed. A lot of times that is because of our love and that we feel that we have failed God! We have to come to that place, [when we say] “Lord, whatsoever has come my way, I have done the very best that I can do. I come in the Name of the Lord.”

And God IS MERCIFUL to us!!! Aren’t you thankful for a merciful God? He gave us that grace that while we were yet sinners that HE loved us. [Romans 5:8] And HE gave HIS Son, Jesus that we might obtain that inheritance, the Bible says, that fades not away, reserved in Heaven. [1st Pet. 5:4]

In Colossians it says, “…that we may walk worthy unto the Lord, unto ALL pleasing.” [Col. 1:10]

You know, did you ever try to please somebody, your wife, your husband, your child, someone you really love? You want to PLEASE them. The more you love that one the more that you want to please that one. You want to say, “This is done for you, because I LOVE you!”

And, THAT is what God is saying for us! That we might walk worthy unto the Lord, unto all pleasing. [Col. 1:10]

The Bible says if a man’s ways please the Lord, even his enemies become at peace with him.” [Prov. 16:7] “Great peace have they that love MY law, and nothing shall offend them.” [Psalm 119:165] “If ye abide in Me and MY Words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done.” [John 15:7] It says, “Call unto ME, and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.” [Jer. 33:3] “Thou shall keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee, because he (or she) trusts in THEE.” [Isa. 26:3] “Casting all your cares upon HIM, for HE cares for you.” [1st Pet. 5:7] “Be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath.” [James 1:19]

There is strength in the Lord! But, “pleasing:” Enoch must have pleased God! It said, “He walked with God.” [Genesis 5:24] And God, just literally, took him. He didn’t see death. So, they must have walked hand and hand. They must have walked real close, didn’t they?

And, with that kind of a walk, Enoch must really [have] tried, down in his heart, to please God. You know, he probably says, “I don’t love anyone like I love God! HE’s my closest friend. God, my God, is great! My God is greater than all my friends, even though I love my friends, and even though I love my family, yet my love for YOU, God is beyond any description that I have! Lord I love you with everything in my WHOLE being. I love you so much that I want to be with YOU forever.”

You mentioned Sister Cloaks, she wanted, [had a] longing to go home to see JESUS, to see her God. And that longing becomes that relationship that wants to be kept because of the distance that we are here from Heaven, even though we feel Jesus there, that wanting to go home to have that PERSONAL relationship that only we can. And so that is that reward to all of us, that at the end of this life we will have that SPECIAL time with our Lord and Savior.

And there is heartaches getting to that place, sometimes. All of us go through pain. All of us have had, probably, tooth aches. We’ve had back aches. We’ve had head aches. And every one of us has had HEARTACHES.

We have had loved ones that have went the [wrong] way and has brought grief to our heart. And the Bible says, The Lord knows how to help those ones who are going through grief, through problems. And God is acquainted with these things.

In the fifty third chapter of Isaiah it says He was acquainted with our griefs and our sorrows, yet a man stricken, yet He was not smitten, because He was our liberator. He was our One that changed this pattern, that brought peace in our heart and life, that brought redemption to mankind, that we might have that gift of God: Whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be, and can be saved, with the glorifying of God’s Spirit upon us, that we might live out, that we might have that LIBERTY.

The Bible says, “God is that Spirit and where the Spirit is there is LIBERTY!” [2nd Cor. 3:17] Liberty is something we fight for. As Americans we have paid, many, many of our sons, our daughters have paid that price, that we as a Nation would have LIBERTY.

And God has blessed our Nation. I believe this: that we might walk “PLEASING” unto our Lord. Just think about it: how we can PLEASE God.

You know, our conversation: have we talked with the Lord? Have we asked the Lord this day?? [Sometimes a person will say,] “I’ve had a bad day!”  But, you know, you talk to that person. He never has spoken to his Lord all day long. He has had such a bad day, he’s forgotten about the ONE that can change that bad day into a good day, a qualified day, realizing that his Savior is able to subdue all the powers that is giving him that day. That HE [God] is able to give him a renewing of his mind, that HE is able to give him the joy of the Lord, which is our strength, the joy and peace that passes ALL understanding. [Nehemiah 8:10] [Phil. 4:7]

There is something wonderful how the chemistry of this body reacts to the things of God. And how it reacts wrongfully to the powers of darkness. This body goes apart [from the powers of darkness]. It wasn’t made for the powers of darkness. It was made for the Heavenly visitation of God, for the visitation that God would come upon this body, that would REACT to GOD!! It reacts to the Spirit of God. It reacts to what God represents. It reacts to the love of God! It reacts to the healing of God. Many of us will get healed because of our close relationship to God!

Many times, we are not really sick. It is because we have a sick belief in God [that we are not well]. Our body needs that closeness with God. It brings forth a natural chemistry of God that brings TOTAL HEALING!!!

We lose those pains. We lose those headaches. We lose those problems that faced us, because of the visitation we keep with the Lord! God has HIS arm stretched out for us CONTINUALLY! And many times we back off from the Lord. Instead of calling unto God, we back away. And through this backing away [we lose out].

This is one area that I believe (this is from me right now). I believe that when we back away God won’t, never, force us! God is THAT loving [ONE]! HE loves us so much, we have to always make that step in, toward our God.

And the enemy will come, continually, when we make that first step [toward God] and he says, “Don’t you do that!” But, see, the enemy, he only has false [words]. There is a false witness there! God’s witness is not false!

So, we are facing this false witness. And our power is with God. It is real! So it is going to break through. It is going to get to our God, because God is NOT false!

Our enemy is false. Everything he does, he makes false accusations. He lies! He cheats! And these problems he [the enemy] has, that we DON’T need! But he encamps [near] us many times, with a camp, that we become in chains and darkness, because of false things in our mind.

The Bible says, “…though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God, pulling down strongholds, casting out imaginations…” [2nd Cor. 10:3-5]

Pulling down the strongholds: we have to have [the mind of Christ]. “Let this mind be in you which is in Christ Jesus.” [Phil. 2:5] We need the in-filling of God’s Spirit upon us [so] that [in] what we FACE, we [become] more than conquerors through him which loves us. “Yea, in all these things we are MORE than conquerors, through Christ Jesus.” [Romans 8:37]

It says, “I’m persuaded that neither life, nor death, nor angels. nor principalities, nor things present, neither height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is IN Christ Jesus our Lord.” [Romans 8:38-39] “Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” [Romans 5:1]

There is a supernatural Spirit of God that enables us to be BLESSED, if we want to be!

“Being fruitful in every good work.” [Col. 1:10] “Fruitful,”…and that is what God’s aim is! HE wants us to grow, being fruitful in every good work. And that is the gifts of God. Some of us won’t even have the gifts. We don’t need it! But, God’s touch is upon a person.

You know, my brother. I was talking to him the other day. And, it so blessed me, what P___ told me. He has an automotive shop here in [a local city]. He says, “… you know,” he says, “I can’t believe that people won’t tithe to God.”

He goes to a Baptist church, which is fine. And he said, “You know, since [my wife] and I started tithing we never ever done without.” He said, “Before we tithed we was always without.”

He said, “I can’t understand why people can’t get that through their heads, that when you tithe to God, God literally takes over for you.”

Isn’t that something? In that spot that we might be “fruitful in every good work.” God wants us to have a fruitful walk with the Lord. I believe that.

HE wants us to have a walk, that HE is well pleased with our walk, [that] HE is well pleased with what we are being fruitful with.

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, goodness, meekness, temperance…” [Gal. 5:22] All these things are the fruit of the Spirit.

You know, a lot of times, I believe that we, many of us, we want to have the gift of the Spirit. We want to have like the gift of healing, gift of knowledge, all these wonderful things. BUT God is more concerned with our fruit….love, joy, peace.

In Galatians it gives them out there really special, doesn’t it?

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace, long-suffering, gentleness….” [Gal. 5:22] Did you ever see someone who is gentle?? “Goodness:” you know there is attraction there, isn’t it?? You know really this is a sort of a teaching. But there is an attraction when you see someone who possesses THESE QUALITIES!! “…meekness, temperance.” You all know what temperance is, self control.

And this is probably one of the big areas that all of us come to face even when driving our car, that we keep self control. All of these are very [beneficial]. “Joy:” I like to be around someone who has joy. A peaceful person, “long-suffering,” with joyfulness giving thanks unto the Father who has made us meet to become partakers in the inheritance of the saints in light.” [Col. 1:11b-12] That’s the Word, you know.

There is something about God’s Spirit that is ATTRACTIVE. God has given us NOT a yoke that is hard to bear. But, the yoke that God wants us to bear is basically easy. It [the word] says it is an easy yoke. [Matt. 11:30] God has made it easy.  It is hard for us to come under that [yoke] because there is something about us that lies to us, that lies to our minds. There is something that causes us to doubt. It causes us, maybe, to judge our brother, our sister, to be judgemental.

And, I believe that is one of the areas, when we judge our brother.   The Bible says if you have [ought against your brother], that you must go to the altar, and this problem is there, we have to go clear that up. If we hold “ought” one to another, anybody. [Mark 11:25] The Bible says there are sins unto death, sins that are not unto death. [1st John 5:16] But, I believe THAT one, right there, [judgementalism] is a sin that will put us all down. And it is so [subtle] you don’t see it!

We are the master of our lives. We understand if we hold grudges, if we hold things against [people], if we go to the altar, the Bible says our prayers will be hindered, basically. In James it says, we will pray it as unto “amiss.” [James 4:3] Our prayers will not get any higher than, basically, right there, because we are short circuited! That plain old “not forgiveness,” back here has stopped our prayers. Isn’t that sad! Something simple, like that, can cause us [trouble].

So, that is an area, I believe, that we need to really [look into]. And, to love God, that we might walk “pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” [Col. 1:10]

I believe that until we get those two spots, we are not going to be increasing in the knowledge of God. I believe that knowledge comes to the Spirit more than [the mind]. And the Word [of God] brings forth knowledge. But it is still applied through the Spirit, I really believe. The Spirit of God brings this Word alive. It is the peace, joy. It says, “praying always with all prayer and supplication IN THE SPIRIT.” [Eph. 6:18]

There is something as we pray. There is something WONDERFUL about praying in the Spirit. “Above all taking the shield of faith, wherein ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. The helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. Praying always with all prayer and supplication IN THE SPIRIT. And watching there unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. And for me that an utterance may be given unto me that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.” [Eph. 6:16-19]

And there is truly MYSTERIES that we don’t know of. And I believe that! And I think that this today is probably not saying much here, but I really believe that if we could just WALK worthy in the Lord. It is going to be a step, a hurtle that we need to [take]. I think we are ALL lacking. I am lacking there.

And I think another place (this is from me), but I believe we are in a busy, busy time since the very beginning of mankind. I believe with all this new technology [it] has allowed our minds to become so busy. It really has! They say you can take a computer now and within a year it is outdated, something like that.

Technology is to the place that it has never been. And, basically, these minds, yours and my mind has, basically, been the same, other than what we have learned. We learn. We learn to study. But, if you can see yourself as a computer, THAT is what we sort of are, is a computer. We take in. If we have never taken in we can’t give out. And I believe that.

And that is why we read the Word of God. We apply it to our hearts and lives that the imprint of Jesus Christ will be so strong within our lives that it becomes a focus WITHIN that shines out, that this man, this woman is truly a child of God, because of what is IN them, [and what is in them] comes out!

And it is spoken, because we are a reference. We are a beacon of life and light that shines for the Lord, Jesus Christ! We are THAT vessel!

About 20 years ago, …God was dealing with me. It wasn’t what gift I had. IT was my love for HIM that counted, and the joy and the fruit of the Spirit. It was really the outward thing. I didn’t need the others. And I believe this. God at anytime is able to empower you with gifts from the Lord. They may be on a short term basis, but, still, at that time HE is able, as you apply yourself, openly, to the Spirit of God, that God is able [to] empower you with Himself. It may not be a total gift. You can’t go around saying, “I’ve got the gift of healing!” I don’t have nothing. But, you become that receiver of the Lord. And I think that is the most precious: you will be so moved upon by the Spirit. Not [moved upon] by yourself.

The Bible says the gifts are without repentance. That means that you can get out of the will of God and still that spirit rests on you [for the manifestation of the gift]. Isn’t that something wonderful?

[At this point someone remarked about how this was true of Balaam who God still anointed for prophecy…but who was out of the will of God. See Numbers, chapter 22.]
